Yann Arthus-Bertrand
Born in Paris in 1946, he worked as a photographer with various natu- ralists. In the 1990s, under the patronage of UNESCO, he embarked on the creation of an image bank of the earth seen from above. In 1999, his work was published and The Earth from Above, translated in 24 languages, became one of the best selling illustrated books with more than three million copies sold worldwide. In 2005 Arthus-Bertrand created GoodPlanet, a non-profit organization which is dedicated to the promotion of sustainable development.
