Animalia

Animalia

This portrait of Albino Brisighella, called “El Mastai”, grew out of a research project, begun in 1993, on the most recent ways of mountain life in the Val Daone, in Italy’s Trentino region. His only worry is survival and how to pacify his cruel and incessant hunger. Killing animals for food becomes a primitive, ancestral ritual that leads Man – himself an animal – to reflect on his existence.
