Sesivalnca spomina
(Memories Re-sewn)
by Anja Medved e Nadja Velušček
47’, Betacam SP, Italy, 2006
The mountainous territory between Italy and the former Yugoslavia is that which, after 1947, felt most deeply the consequences of the “iron curtain”, and which suffered extensive depopulation. The little stories of the few remaining inhabitants, and of those who are now returning, are the emblem of a larger story that, in spite of everything, has not prevented the people up there from maintaining their customs, language, and traditions.
Anja Medved, Nadja Velušček
Anja Medved, born in 1969, holds a degree in directing from the Academy of Theatre, Cinema, and Radio at the University of Ljubljana and writes and directs for theatre and video. Nadja Velušček was born in 1948 and received a degree in Slovenia and Italian Language and Literature from the University of Ljubljana. She teaches literature and writes documentaries. In 2006 she received the Tre Comuni prize for her trans-border collaboration.
