In a small town in the Ligurian Alps, people seem to live in a state of isolation from the modern world. The men and women who live here have maintained a purity and mental clarity that is perhaps lost to the “city dwellers”. Guido, Giuliana, Anna, Francis and other people in this story have chosen a life in contact with nature. Their roots are in the mountains and from the mountains comes their daily sustenance. Along with images of the present are others filmed in black and white decades ago. Voices singing popular songs accompany the memories of the past. Keeping this little town alive, caring for it and loving it, means, for its inhabitants, building a cradle for the future of humanity.
