San Michele Returns to the Cornesel, August 3, 2008

The Malga Cornesel, in the heart of the upper Lessinia, near the Podestaria, was the property in the distant past of the Benedictine nuns of San Michele, Verona. In the summer of 2008 a group of friends, scholars, researchers, and mountain lovers organized a walk from the Valpantena to bring an image of San Michele carved from stone to the malga (herdsman’s refuge-hut, often used for making cheese) as a sign of protection of the Lessinia.
