An ingenious, versatile artist and poet, Santo Pirano was passionate about the mountains, in particular the Lessinia and the Carega group. He built a herdsman’s hut amid olive trees in the hills of the Val d’Illasi. In the silence up there he found the inspiration to make his wood sculptures with simple subjects and profound religious inspiration.
Giorgio Pirana
A member of C.A.I., of the Italian Group of Mountain Writers, and of the Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense, since his youth he has loved and spent time in the mountains, immortalizing them in his photographs and films.
