Felicità
(Happiness)
by Salomé Aleksi
30’, Georgia, 2009
Tamara lives and works, without a residence permit, in Italy, where she is employed by an elderly woman. Her job allows her to maintain her children who live with their father in a small Georgian village, from which she departed a few years earlier. Her husband dies suddenly, in a car accident. His funeral is organized in their village, but because she is an illegal immigrant, Tamara cannot leave Italy. And so, she finds another way to participate in her husband’s funeral.
