Era ieri
(It was Yesterday)
by Matteo Parisini
8’, Italy, 2007
The final interview with the great Italian journalist, Enzo Biagi. Born in August of 1920 in Lizzano in Belvedere, in the Pianaccio mountains of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, Biagi talks about what ties him to these mountains: his childhood lived in the family house; the bond with his father, a simple worker, and his housewife mother; the partisan war fought up here when he was little more than twenty; his return trips to his mountain on the last years of his life. Th e documentary, fi lmed a few months before Biagi’s death, becomes a delicate and moving portrait of a man who was close to the soul of the common man.
