Joan Pipa is a nomadic shepherd, the last of a tradition going back thousands of years that is now disappearing. The origins of the transhumance of men with their livestock are rooted in the distant past and now belong only to the collective imagination. Joan completes the ritual for the last time. We accompany him on this trip with his flock across the Catalan Pyrenees and, day after day, discover his past and his present. He is a man who loves his work because it allows him to live freely and immersed in nature. In recent years, the depopulation of the rural areas, industrialization, and the proliferation of new roads and infrastructures risk putting an end to this tradition forever. Should we consider the disappearance of nomadic shepherds a sign of progress or, on the contrary, a symptom of the death of our civilization?
