The film shows the unique character and spectacular nature of the landscape of the Alto Adige region on the border with Austria. For twenty months the team, guided by Hubert Schönegger, traversed the Carnic high-alpine trail, capturing the breathtaking panoramas, the precious flora and fauna, and the human presence linked to antique traditions and the recent tourism activity. The film follows the life of man – and that of nature – through the changing of the seasons, for an entire year.

Hubert Schönegger
Hubert Schönegger was born in the Alta Pusteria region where he lives and has worked for many years on the production and direction of documentary films. Both in his work as an independent producer and for the television station ORF Universum, he favors the subject of the Alto Adige, and has documented its landscape, natural and man-made environments, history, and traditions.
