To follow the 64-year-old postman, Dolmar, in his rounds delivering the mail in places unreachable by car, is to take a trip through the life of the most isolated villages in the Himalayan valley of Spiti, on the border between India and China. By motorbike, by horse, or on foot, Dolmar travels more than thirty kilometers a day, helping the illiterate – who sign for their mail with a fingerprint – to read their letters.

Ines Possemeyer
Born in 1968, she has worked since 1994 as a director, journalist, and television editor. In addition to teaching at the University of Hamburg, she writes and directs  documentaries for the television station ARTE, and has won important journalistic awards.
