(Air)
by Urs Frey
24’, Switzerland, 2000
Dumeng Secchi’s passion is building “flying objects”. His house, in the mountains of the Engadina region, is the laboratory where he studies, calculates, draws and models objects in every material and form. The mountains are the place where his creatures take flight. The light, white sheets of cloth caress the blue sky, the red balloons form a great arch over the lake, the strange black aerostats are silhouetted against the white landscape of the winter snow. Each of these objects comes to life in relationship to the space around it. And as they soar, free, toward the sky, Man satisfies his innate dream of flying.
