The WINNERS of 15th Film Festilval della Lessinia

The awards ceremony of the 15th Film Festival della Lessinia, with the conferral of the Lessinia d'Oro, will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 6:30 pm in the main theatre of the Teatro Vittoria.

The portraits of the protagonists of the 15th Film Festival della Lessinia.

The retrospective devoted to Heidi continues at the Film Festival della Lessinia. Three afternoon screenings will bring to Bosco Chiesanuova three masterpieces featuring the infamous shepherd-girl invented by Johanna Spyri. Monday, August 24, 4:00 pm: Heidi. Zoccoletti olandesi (Heidi. Dutch Clogs), by Allan Dwan (featuring Shirley Temple); Tuesday, August 25, 4:00 pm: Heidi. Sono tornata per te (Heidi. I've Come back for You), by Luigi Comencini; Wednesday, August 26, 4:00 pm: Heidi torna tra i monti  (Heidi Returns to the Mountains), the celebrated animated cartoons by Isao Takahata.

The film by Ermanno Olmi, Terra Madre, protagonist of the 15th Film Festival della Lessinia. Sunday, August 23 at 4 pm in the Teatro Vittoria in Bosco Chiesanuova. Special guest for the event: Franco Piavoli, co-author of the film with L'Orto di Flora.

The 15th edition of the Film Festival della Lessinia is underway.  On Saturday, August 22, at 9 pm  in the Teatro Vittoria in Bosco Chiesanuova, the opening session begins with a rare clip from the 1920 Heidi of the Alps, which inaugurates the retrospective within this year's Festival devoted to Heidi.  Following are Himalaya, la terre des femmes (Himalaya, Land of Women) by Marianne Chaud and Carmen meets Borat by Mercedes Stalenhoef.

Festival Pass € 45. The Festival Pass gives you access to all Festival film screenings and special events, with a numbered seat in the Teatro Vittoria and a non-numbered seat in the Sala Olimpica. Your seat will be held until three minutes before the screening begins; after that time it will be re-offered for sale. Fifteen years. We don’t much care for anniversaries. No ceremonies, therefore. We celebrate the milestone reached by presenting the selection of documentaries, features, and shorts that we have chosen after a full year of work. There are fifty-five films on the program of the 15th Film Festival della Lessinia and eighteen countries are represented, from every continent. Let’s take a look at the films in store over these ten days of the Film Festival, leaving aside for the moment the other initiatives that will, as always, enrich the Festival experience: the Mountain Bookshop, the guided excursions, the events for children, the panel discussions and book presentations. Each visitor will discover, in the Teatro Vittoria, the Piazza del Festival, the contradas, woods and pastures of Bosco Chiesanuova, his or her own corner of the mountains.
