The Film Festival della Lessinia announces the titles of the 20 films from 13 countries that will compete for the Lessinia Gold, the Lessinia Silver, and the other official prizes. Take a look.

Games, laboratories, excursions, snacks, and a section of animated and short films all dedicated to children: the Children's Festival 2011 is richer than ever. The theme this year will be the forest. Discover the full programme soon on this site.

The Film Festival della Lessinia announces, amongst the special events, a curious retrospective dedicated to the mountains built by man: towers, buildings, skyscrapers. Among  others, the famous film by Luis Trenker Der Verlorene Sohn, will be screened as the closing film of the Festival, on Saturday, August 27, 2011.

Two great masters of cinema return to the Lessinia with two special events that the Festival dedicates to the forest on the occasion of the International Year of Forests 2011. Fitzcarraldo by Werner Herzog and Il segreto del bosco vecchio by Ermanno Olmi will be the two films in the mini-restrospective, "Homage to the Forest".

A very special event will open the 17th Film Festival della Lessinia on Friday, August 19, 2011. The Festival will present the 1923 silent film, Safety Last, with Harold Lloyd. The film will be accompanied by music played live by  Helga Plankensteiner (sax, clarinet) Martin Ohrwalder (trumpet) Michael Lösch (piano) Enrico Tommasini (drums). Music by Michael Lösch.

Among the special events this year the Film Festival della Lessinia will dedicate a retrospective to woods and forests to coincide with the International Year of Forests proclaimed by the United Nations for 2011 and of which the Festival is an official partner. On the programme are films and documentaries about mountain woods and forests and a rich schedule of events including exhibitions, literary encounters, and excursions.
